MetroCards
Transportation to practices/games: 
- All student-athletes who qualify to receive PSAL metro-cards must first appear on the team Active Roster in order to receive metro-cards for games.
This is how Metro Cards work …   
 

1. PSAL does not provide metro cards for practices, metro cards are only for games

2. PSAL does not look at home or away games locations – it looks at the distance from the school to the game – if the game is 1.5 miles away from the school metro cards will be shipped.

3. Sunday metro cards are considered gold metro cards – these are the only metro cards that you have athletic director have the ability to request online when you log in as AD. Please keep in mind that games for Sunday are automatically populated, which means it will only appear if you have games.
   
   A. All the students will receive a metro card for Saturday metro card regardless if they receive a metro card from the school
   B. If the student receives a metro card from the school the student will not receive an additional metro card from PSAL for the games
   C. If the student is paid they will receive a PSAL metro card
   D. If the student is half fare they will receive a PSAL metro card
   ​

At the beginning of every season – OPT (Office of Pupil Transportation) system will check PSAL website and calculate the games we have listed for your school, they check the status of each student whether they receive a metro card or not and shipment is tally up and be sent. This is why it’s important that you as AD have your rosters ready so when the OPT system checks it will provide the correct metro cards.  OPT system will continue to check your school roster for any add-ons
